Learn HTML – Part 10 – Strong Tag – Emphasize Important Text

Understanding the <strong> Tag in HTML

The <strong> tag is used to indicate strong importance or serious emphasis in HTML content. Browsers typically render this as bold text, but its primary role is semantic—to convey importance.

Tag Syntax:

<strong>Your important text here</strong>

Common Uses:

  • Highlighting warnings or critical info
  • Emphasizing keywords in a paragraph
  • Marking up content for assistive technologies (screen readers)

Difference Between <strong> and <b>:

  • <strong> conveys semantic importance
  • <b> is only visual and does not imply meaning

Example:

<p>This is <strong>very important</strong> information for all users.</p>
